A man and woman have denied assaulting and injuring a young child at an Aberdeenshire nursery.
Stacy Kerr, 27, and Joseph Picker, 32, are facing court over allegations they each assaulted the child at the day nursery on various occasions between June and July this year.
The pair were not personally present when the case called at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, but both pled not guilty through their respective solicitors.
Kerr is alleged to have repeatedly assaulted the child by repeatedly grabbing them, restraining them on the floor with her body, pushing them to the floor, pushing and pulling them, and lifting them up, all to their injury.
Meanwhile, Picker is accused of assaulting them by repeatedly grabbing them, pushing and pulling them, restraining them on the floor with his body, lifting them up, grabbing them by the head, kissing them on the head, and pushing them, causing them to fall over, all to their injury.
Kerr, of Balnagask Avenue, Aberdeen, and Picker, of Holburn Street, Aberdeen, both deny the charges against them.
Sheriff William Summers fixed a trial diet for May next year, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for earlier that month.
