An Aberdeen nursery has been warned it must make “significant improvements” following a visit from the Care Inspectorate.
Inspectors carried out an unannounced visit at Little Dreams Nursery in Bon Accord Street in June, and found faults with the quality of care and support, environment, staffing, management and leadership.
The team, who graded the nursery as weak, also pointed out that several concerns that had been previously raised had not been addressed – such as the providing youngsters with enough drinks and staff failing to ensure the children washed their hands before meals.
A spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: “We continue to have concerns about this service and are monitoring it closely.
“We have informed them of the areas where progress must be made and will be inspecting again soon to check on progress.
“Every child in Scotland has the right to safe, compassionate, good quality care which meets their needs and respects their rights.”
Despite the report, 12 out of the 19 parents who returned questionnaires about the quality of the nursery to inspectors indicated they were satisfied, with the remaining seven saying they were very satisfied.
