Aaron Bell appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday where he admitted assaulting a man by striking him in the face causing him to fall over. The offence happened at around 12.30am on January 28 at Halo Bar, Crown Street, in Aberdeen. Fiscal depute Katy Begg said the man had been standing at the bar with friends when Bell knocked a bar stool against him. She added: “That was pointed out to the accused. An exchange followed. “Without warning the accused punched the complainer to the face with such force that he was knocked to the ground.” Bell’s solicitor said he had been on a night out and had been drinking. She added: “He didn’t set out with the intention to get into any fights but he accepts responsibility.” Sheriff Ian Anderson ordered Bell, whose address was given in court papers as Balmerino Road, Dundee, to pay a fine of £300 within six months.
