A man has been handed unpaid work for selling cocaine.
Jordan Ivancic, 21, sold the Class-A drugs to a 19-year-old male in Aberdeen city centre on November 9, 2016.
Fiscal depute Stuart Wright said the buyer and two friends got the train into Aberdeen from Inverurie.
Once there the he met with Ivancic and purchased a quantity of cocaine from him.
At 9.30am the next day the man was found to have died.
The cause of death was cocaine intoxication.
Ivancic previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Bob Anderson, Ivancic’s solicitor, said: “To his credit, rather than allowing himself to continue on the downward spiral he has pulled himself up by the bootstraps.”
He added his client had been a drug user himself and built up debt. He saw selling cocaine as an opportunity to make some money.
Sheriff Sukhwinder Gill branded the circumstances “tragic” and ordered Ivancic, whose address was given as Slains Place, Aberdeen, to carry out 225 hours of unpaid work.
