A ski centre hopes to open a new £800,000 chairlift within weeks.
Construction of the Cairnwell chairlift at the Glenshee Ski Centre is complete, however bosses are awaiting a visit from the Department of Transport which will allow the device to carry skiers.
Stewart Davidson, director at Glenshee Ski Centre, said: “We are hopeful within the next couple of weeks we will be able to open the new chairlift to the public.
“The chairlift is ready to go, we just need a certificate of insurance from the transport authorities to allow us to run it.”
The new three-man chairlift cost around £800,000, with 75% of the money for it coming from Scottish Enterprise.
The rest of the cash was raised by the ski centre, with the sale of the 50-year-old chairs from the old Cairnwell chairlift auctioned off, making around £22,000.
