It’s not often that you look up from your pint to see a rock star in your local. But that’s exactly what happened to one Aberdeen fan who caught up with Rod Stewart. Shaun McGregor, 19, from Stoneywood, managed to get a picture with the musician ahead of the Dons’ clash with Celtic at Pittodrie. Rod Stewart dropped by the Woodend Bar. Picture from Google Rod, a well-known Celtic supporter, was on his way to the game and stopped by the Woodend Bar in Stoneywood for a drink. Dons fan Shaun, also en route to the top-of-the-table clash, joked that Rod was “was off to see Celtic get beat!”. He added: “But he had a ball of a time in the local. “I presume he just wanted a quiet pint and it’s close to the airport. “He was good fun.” The star was spotted elsewhere in Aberdeen before the game including at the Chester Hotel on Queen’s Road. And when he reached Pittodrie, the singer was seen happily posing for pictures in the stands before the game kicked off. Rod’s previous appearances at Pittodrie include a sell out gig on the pitch during 2011. He also performed at the Dons’ home ground in 1995.
