Police and fire services are carrying out a joint investigation into the cause of a fire which destroyed a derelict property in Aberdeen last night.
A fire service spokeswoman said the fire in Viewfield Road was reported at around 10.40pm.
She said the building had been empty at the time and no one was hurt in the blaze.
Six city appliances, a water carrier and a height vehicle attended the incident and firefighters used five main jets and two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
The spokeswoman said they believed it to have been extinguished just after 1am, but firefighters had to return to the scene just before 9am this morning because it was smouldering.
Two appliances attended and firefighters used one hose reel jet. They left the scene at around 9.20am.
A police spokeswoman said the building was totally destroyed by the fire and a joint police and fire service investigation would be carried out this afternoon.
