Huge waves in Stonehaven have caused a build-up of sea foam on the beach front.
A number of residents are attempting to brush the foam away from their houses and gardens, as it can kill plants and wildlife.
The phenomenon is caused by the agitating of sea water, and normally happens on remote beaches. It is rare to see the foam in such a public place.
Residents in Aberdeen’s Footdee experienced vast amounts of sea foam in 2012 following stormy weather. It covered walkways, grassy areas and house-fronts, and the clean-up effort took nearly a month.
