Flood warnings remain in place throughout the north east

Areas of the north east of Scotland remain on flood alert today following this week’s stormy weather.

Tuesday saw just under 45mm of rainfall in Aberdeen alone, while Aboyne saw a further 42.2mm and Braemar 40mm.

The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) still has a flood warning for Aberdeen city and shire, though no roads are currently affected in the city.

A flood alert remains in place along the north east coast from Rosehearty to Fraserburgh.

Stonehaven beachfront was flooded by a combination of the downpour and strong easterly winds during high tide on Tuesday.

However, the worst of the foul weather has passed, with the odd shower of rain, and potential grumbles of thunder, set to take us into the weekend.
