A motorcyclist and his passenger are critically ill in hospital after crashing at an Aberdeen roundabout.
Emergency services were called to the crash at the Wellington Road to Hareness Road roundabout at 10pm last night.
Police said that two men in their twenties were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where they are critical but stable.
The motorcycle – a Green Kawasaki – was left in pieces by the grass verge off of Wellington Road, while a police cordon closed off part of the roundabout.
Following the incident, the southbound carriageway of West Tullos Road and Wellington Road were closed by police.
An ambulance spokesman said the two had suffered “serious leg injuries” and were “badly hurt”.
A collision investigation is underway.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police are at an early stage in the investigation and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.”
Police said they were particularly interested to hear from anyone who saw the motorbike being ridden before it crashed.
