A tiny angling boat was rescued after colliding with rocks near a north-east harbour yesterday.
Peterhead’s RNLI lifeboat, The Misses Robertson of Kintail, was called out to rescue The Puffin at 2.50pm after the two-man vessel collided with the Skerry rock and drifted perilously close to Boddam Harbour.
A local creel boat towed The Puffin after it lost power, and was escorted to Peterhead Harbour by the lifeboat.
However, the boat lost power again as it was heading to the marina, and the RNLI vessel stepped in to tow it to berth.
The lifeboat was finally stood down at 4.50pm.
