Aberdeen transport chiefs have today been discussing the potential of direct flights from Aberdeen to Canada.
The discussions come on the back of a Canadian airline announcing a new, direct service from Glasgow to Halifax in Nova Scotia.
WestJet will launch the daily service connecting Glasgow and Nova Scotia next summer and rumours are now rife of a similar link between Aberdeen and Canada.
Regional transport partnership Nestrans has been in discussions with Aberdeen Airport today to establish if it would be possible to connect the Granite City and Nova Scotia.
Halifax is in Eastern Canada and talks are also said to be underway exploring the possibility of flights between Aberdeen and Houston, America.
