A trailer has been stolen from a Donside farmyard.
The equipment, worth several hundred pounds, was stolen from a farm in the Glenkindie area some time between 10am on Thursday, October 9, and 9am on Monday, October 13.
The two-wheeled galvanised steel trailer has mesh sides and back.
Police say it is the latest in a spate of similar thefts in the north-east, and have urged owners to take extra precautions to secure their vehicles.
A spokeswoman said: “Park your trailer up within a secure yard in a well-lit area and do not leave valuables inside. Consider installing an alarm, it can cost as little as £2.
“If you keep the trailer at home on your driveway, considering using two wheel clamps or attach a heavy-duty chain through the trailer towing arms and secure this to an object that cannot be moved.
“Park your vehicle across the trailer or in front of it, nose to nose, preventing another vehicle from accessing the hitch and secure your own vehicle as well.”
The spokeswoman also suggested fitting a tracker, personalising trailers with a logo or using a special marker.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Glenkindie area around the time of the theft, or who has been offered a steel trailer for sale, should contact the police.
