A car and a van collided at close to the Cock and Bull Restaurant, at Balmedie just before 10am. Two fire crews from Aberdeen were sent to the scene and assisted paramedics in retrieving one patient. An ambulance spokeswoman said that the man, understood to be the van driver, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a back injury. The road is understood to have been blocked for around two hours after the accident but has now been reopened.
