Numerous north-east gardening groups have been recognised at a prestigious ceremony in Scotland.
In total, eighteen green-fingered clubs from across the region were praised by Keep Scotland Beautiful judges at Stirling’s Albert Hall on Monday night for their commitment to cleaning up and improving their local area.
The charity’s campaign, It’s Your Neighbourhood, attracted 122 entries from across the country.
Among the groups recognised was Ashley Road School Parent Council in Aberdeen, who judges said had worked hard to “revitalise” the school grounds and provide more greenery and wildlife habitats for the pupils and wider community.
In Aberdeen, other groups to be praised included – Bucksburn & Newhills Community Council, Cummings Park Community Flat, Donside Community Association, Friends of Denburn, Friends of Duthie Park, Friends of the Howes, Friends of Union Terrace Gardens, Gallowgate Residents Association, Garthdee Field Allotments Association, More Blooms in Cults Bieldside Milltimber, Nether Loirston Growers Association, Powis Residents Association, Slopefield Allotment Association and Westpark Wildlife Garden.
