The search for a 20-year-old Fraserburgh man who went missing four days ago is continuing today.
Shaun Ritchie, known locally as ‘Stonie’, was last seen on Friday between Strichen and the A98 Fraserburgh to Banff road.
He was reported missing on Sunday and a huge social media campaign is underway as police appeal for information.
A photo of Mr Ritchie has now been shared more than 1,000 times on social networking site Facebook, but so far there have been no confirmed sightings of the missing man.
Mr Ritchie is said to be 5ft 9in and when last seen was wearing dark grey skinny jeans, a white T-shirt, a grey hoody and brown trainers.
One messaged posted online from Mr Ritchie’s aunt, Rachael Whyte, last night said: “Could everyone please keep a look out for my nephew.
“If anyone sees him or knows of his whereabouts please get in contact, everyone is really worried about him.”
His picture has now been shared as far afield as Edinburgh, Paisley and Shetland.
A search party of Mr Ritchie’s friends began combing the rural area where he was last spotted – four miles south of Fraserburgh – yesterday and are expected to continue today.
The Press and Journal understands a police helicopter has also been involved in the search.
Investigating officers have urged members of the public with any information which might help in the search for Mr Ritchie to come forward.
