The search for a missing Fraserburgh man has reached its fourth day with police officers searching an area of agricultural land north-west of Strichen.
Shaun Ritchie had been reported missing on Sunday night after being last seen between the A90 Fraserburgh to Banff road on Friday, October 31.
This morning, police held a media briefing to update members of the public on the continued efforts to find the 20-year-old.
Inspector George Coriner, who is coordinating the search, said: “Our priority at the moment is to find Shaun safe and well. However, as time progresses, we’re becoming more concerned given the weather during the nights with the temperature going down significantly. That’s becoming more of a concern.
“We’re deoploying resources best we can at the moment, the priority is to find Shaun safe and well.”
Around 65 members of the public are currently searching the area, including friends and family members of Shaun.
Official searchers include the police, mountain rescuers and a dive team.
Officers have urged members of the public with any information which may be of help to contact them immediately.
