The search for missing Fraserburgh man Shaun Ritchie has entered its fourth day.
Dozens of local people and expert searchers have been scouring a remote stretch of countryside since the 20-year-old was reported missing late on Sunday.
Despite extensive inquiries into his last known movements, the police have no new leads.
One senior police officer said his team were “increasingly concerned” about the Fraserburgh man.
It is understood Mr Ritchie was with friends in an area north-east of Strichen when his was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are continuing our search as planned.”
She would not speculate on whether the search area would be extended.
Specialist resources including the Police Scotland helicopter, police divers, the mountain rescue teams and dog handlers have carried out extensive searches along with more than 60 members of the public.
