Davids, Daves and Davies from across the north-east are being urged to join a special choir to break a world record.
A ‘Choir of Davids’ are being asked to sing ‘Once In Royal David’s City’ at the Castlegate in Aberdeen later this month in an attempt to top the 121 people who gathered there last year in a bid to create the biggest choir of people sharing the same name.
VisitAberdeen, the group behind the plan, has today sent out a rallying call to outdo last year’s attempt.
“We were thrilled to have so many Davids turn up to support our record attempt last year and hope to top the number this year with a melodic encore,” said chief executive Steve Harris.
“Everyone’s got a friend called Dave, and we hope to hear all of them singing their hearts out at the Castlegate.
“Aberdeen’s festive celebrations fill the city with Christmas cheer every November and December, and we’re delighted to be a part of this again.
“We encourage all Davids to spread the word.”
The sing-a-long will take place at 3pm on Sunday, November 23, ahead of the Christmas Lights Switch On Parade on Union Street.
