A family were forced to flee after a blaze broke out in their home yesterday.
Firefighters and an ambulance were called to the scene on Kirkbrae Drive, Cults, at about 1.50am.
Five people, including three children, were evacuated from the property and treated for smoke inhalation. A man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for further treatment.
Three fire crews worked for about half an hour to bring the flames under control.
There was no visible damage at the property yesterday, but neighbours said they had been woken up by smell of smoke and blue flashing lights.
David Noble, who lives nearby, said: “I was woken up by the smell of burning and smoke, it smelled like someone had left a frying pan or cooker on.
“It was very dark of course, but I didn’t see any flames.”
Neighbour Michelle Joseph added: “I was woken up by the lights of the fire engines and the other vehicles early in the morning. I didn’t see any fire or anything, or any smoke either, just the flashing lights coming through my window.”
