Businesses in an Aberdeenshire town have teamed up to create a bumper programme of festive events.
The countdown to Christmas in Stonehaven will officially kick-off on Saturday, November 29 with a torch-lit costume parade and lights switch-on.
However, the festive fun will begin early next weekendnov15+16, when the Kirktown Garden Centre welcome reindeer from the Cairngorms and Santa.
Santa will also make an appearance at the Christmas light switch onnov29, and visitors can also enjoy a funfair or enjoy a ride around the town on the popular land train.
Town centre shops and eateries have been asked to create festive window displays for the event, and the Stonehaven Business Association are being encouraged to get into the spirit by dressing as fairytale or panto characters.
Several businesses will be doing special discounts on the day.
Stonehaven Lions Club will be selling hot chestnuts and soup, while the rotary club will be offering mulled wine and mince pies.
There will also be live music provided by a brass band, pipe band, rock choir and some local artists. A nativity scene will be set up, with Porridge the donkey – the mascot of the Aberdeen Brooke Supporters Group – making a special appearance.
The parade, which will involve several youth organisations, will set off at 5.30pm with the lights switch-on taking place from 6pm-6.30pm.
Other festive events taking place in Stonehaven include a next month Space Odyssey: The Pantomime, at the town hall from December 10-13 and sled dog rides at Baird Park, on December 20 and 21.
