The first images of a proposed hotel at the site of an iconic Aberdeen City department store have been revealed.
The site of former department store Esslemont and Macintosh has been chosen by developers Castlecall to build a five story, 98-bedroom hotel with a restaurant on the ground floor.
The developers revealed their proposal to remove the existing concrete extension to Broad Street and replace it with a four-storey glass extension.
Esslemont and Macintosh closed in May 2007 when owners Owen Owen went into administration, and the two buildings have been out of use ever since.
The closure marked the end of 134 years of trade at the department store, and cost 107 people their jobs.
Developers Castlecall has also outlined a plan in their proposals to create a new bridge between the two buildings.
The plans have been submitted to the city council and are awaiting approval.
