Police raided a property in Aberdeen yesterday to search for firearms.
The house at Lerwick Road in the Sheddocksley area was targeted following an incident at the weekend in which a motorist was stopped in the city-centre.
The man was arrested by officers in connection with an alleged drink driving offence.
It is understood ammunition was discovered within the vehicle which sparked the raid.
At the scene yesterday, four police cars and one van were stationed on the street outside the property.
Officers could be seen removing items from the house.
One resident said police had been in the area since 7.30pm on Sunday night.
A police spokeswoman confirmed a “routine” licensing inspection had taken place following the arrest on Saturday night at 11.30pm.
She stressed that there was no danger to the public.
