Driver charged in connection with A90 video

A man has been charged in connection with dangerous driving after a video clip was posted online.

The 26-year-old was reported to the procurator fiscal after another driver filmed a silver Volkswagen Golf GT overtaking vehicles on the A90 Aberdeen to Peterhead road last week.

Police launched an investigation after the footage was viewed more than 70,000 times and shared by more than 1,300 people on social media sites.

A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following inquiries a 26-year-old man has been traced and reported to the procurator fiscal regarding alleged dangerous driving believed to have taken place on the Aberdeen to Peterhead road on November 11.”

The alleged incident was understood to have taken place around 9am on a busy stretch of commuter road near Hatton.
