Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of a missing Montrose woman and have launched a fresh appeal for information.
Lorraine McRae who has connections with the Peterhead and Aberdeen areas, was last seen at Montrose train station more than two weeks ago.
The 51-year-old was spotted on the southbound platform at around 5pm on Monday, November 3, but did not board a train, and her next movements are unknown.
Police search dogs, officers from British Transport Police and the coastguard have all taken part in detailed searches in the Montrose area.
Angus area commander, Chief Inspector Gordon Milne, said the disappearance was “very worrying”.
He said: “Lorraine has a daily routine that includes visiting Montrose Library, Lloyds the Chemist, the Montrose High Street Post Office and the Subway food shop.
“Indeed she was known to have visited these locations on the day she went missing. She is well known in the Montrose area and her disappearance is completely out of character.
“Police have spoken with numerous friends, associates and extended family members who are equally concerned as they have not seen or heard from her and it is very worrying indeed.
“With each passing day, concerns for her welfare continue to increase and any information that can be provided is vital.”
Investigating officers released a CCTV image of Ms McRae, who is about 5ft tall and very slim, taken inside a Subway sandwich shop on the day she vanished.
When she was last seen at Montrose Station her natural dark brown hair was dyed a distinctive blonde and she was wearing a white jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, blue skinny jeans and white trainers.
The former Hazlehead Academy pupil was also carrying a light-coloured canvas handbag.
Ms McRae moved to her flat in Montrose’s Hill Street about a year ago, having previously lived in the Aberdeen and Peterhead areas.
