A woman who was caught with cocaine and heroin worth thousands of pounds has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.
Carol Dixon, 51, had large quantities of the drugs in Aberdeen’s Powis Place in March.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard the Jamaican national was given – but she was then caught carrying more cocaine and heroin in the city’s Market Street in June.
Dixon, described in court papers as a prisoner at HMP Grampian, had admitted drugs offences at a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow last month.
Sentence had been deferred for reports.
Yesterday, the court heard that Dixon had admitted the offences at the earliest opportunity and was receiving counselling in prison for mental health problems.
The court also heard that Dixon had a previous conviction from her homeland for which she served 18 months hard labour.
Judge Lady Rae told her: “Illegal drugs bring so much misery into our communities.”
