A woman who was spared a period in detention for crying rape has now admitted making, possessing and distributing pornographic images of a nine-year-old girl.
Shannon Main also pled guilty to sexually assaulting the same youngster when she appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
The offences were all carried out over a period of 10 months at an address in the city when Main herself was just a teenager
Yesterday the court heard that the circumstances surrounding the offences were not what the court would “usually” hear.
As a result fiscal depute David Bernard asked for the case to be adjourned so that an agreed narrative could be put before the sheriff before the 20-year-old is sentenced.
Main admitted three charges which involved taking indecent images of a child, having these images in her possession and distributing them between January and November 4 last year.
She also sexually abused the same little girl at the address in the city by inducing her to remove her clothing until she was completely naked and touching her on the upper part of her body over her clothes.
Main also admitted breaching the bail conditions which were put upon her when she first appeared in court in private on these charges. At the time she was banned from accessing the internet, however admitted going online between February 13 and February 26 this year.
Main, of St Fitticks House, 36 Crombie Road, Aberdeen, was remanded in custody and will return to court in December to be sentenced for her latest string of offences.
Last month Main was ordered to carry out 200 hours of community service after she admitted sparking a major police investigation when she lied about being raped.
The court heard that she had turned up at her partner’s work appearing to be upset.
When he asked her what was wrong she said she had just been raped.
At the time fiscal depute Felicity Merson said that her boyfriend then decided to call the police, and when officers arrived she continued the deception.
Main was taken to Woolmanhill Hospital to be medically examined and was questioned by police about her “ordeal”.
However, she was caught out after CID officers involved in the inquiry started to notice her story was not “adding up”.
And after checking her phone they found she had sent text messages to her family and friends at the time she claimed she was being raped.
In the messages she clearly stated she was safe and well.
Mrs Merson said that Main eventually admitted she had not been raped when police confronted her with the discrepancies, but she also claimed her boyfriend had misunderstood what she had been trying to tell him.
