These are the latest images of a major new development planned for an Aberdeenshire town.
The drawings depict a masterplan for almost 400 homes which are scheduled to be built in Banchory next summer.
North Banchory Company Ltd and Bancon Group are behind the development at Lochside of Leys, which includes a full-size football pitch, a park and ride facility, playing fields and shops.
The masterplan – which has been revised following a public consultation – is due to be considered by Marr area councillors early next year.
North Banchory Company Ltd unveiled its blueprint in November 2012, and has since been consulting with residents and reshaping the plans.
Consultation events took place at the Banchory Business Centre earlier this month.
The first stage of the plan is expected to include 56 homes.
Bancon’s planning director Harry McNab said last night that he hoped to start building work next summer, if the revised masterplan is backed by councillors.
He said: “We had the masterplan in with councillors six months ago but this is a renewed one which takes into account the views of the council officers and public.
“I would like to think this will be approved either in January or February. We have had very positive feedback so far.
“We would like to be on site by mid-summer.
“The idea is to start to work towards the east of the site and gradually move to the west.”
The first phase will also include space for an “informal” children’s play area, while a football pitch will be developed towards the north-east of the scheme.
At Hill of Banchory, a “neighbourhood centre” – consisting of a 60 bed care home, medical centre, dental surgery, shops, offices and restaurants – could be built.
Mr McNab added: “We hope to have consultation on the neighbourhood centre early next year too.”
Space has been set aside for a replacement Banchory Academy, while the road from Raemoir to the Hirn road would be upgraded.
Councillors on the education learning and leisure committee have been asked to bring forward a consultation on rezoning Banchory’s schools as a result of the proposed development.
