Policed are investigating after a child was allegedly spat on at a bus stop in Aberdeen.
Caroline Smith claims that while she was waiting for a bus on Bridge Street outside the Trinity Shopping Centre, a woman spat on her 10-month-old baby.
The 36-year-old contacted the police, who have confirmed that officers were called to an incident at around noon.
“I would have taken my son to hospital if the spit had gone on his skin but luckily it hit his jacket and hat,” she said.
“After I saw it, I confronted her because it’s absolutely disgusting.
“I have no idea who the woman was, which makes this even stranger.
“She then walked away.
“It happened in front of lots of people and I got a telephone number for a witness who also saw the incident.
“I believe police are now looking at the CCTV in the area to try to identify the woman.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police attended an incident at around 12.10pm.”
She added: “Both people are forming part of an inquiry and the alleged spitting at the child is part of our investigation.”
