Tonight will see the official launch of £21million Village Urban Resort Aberdeen.
The 148-room venue offers a spa, gym, meeting rooms and a bar & grill at Drum Property Group’s multimillion-pound business park development the Prime Four site at Kingswells.
The project changed hands last month after anAmerican private equity firm agreed to buy the 25 Village Urban Resorts for close to £500million. KSL Capital Partners acquired the group from De Vere, which initially launched the development.
The heavily indebted De Vere was taken over by Lloyds Banking Group in a debt-for-equity swap 2010 following the banking crisis.
Denver-based KSL also owns the Malmaison Group of 29 Malmaison and Hotel du Vin hotels.
Plans for the 101,000 sq ft four star resort were first revealed at the end of 2012.
The at Village Urban Resort format is the first of three its owners plans to have in Scotland, with further properties due to open in Edinburgh in 2015 and Glasgow the following year.
