An 81-year-old woman who was hit by a car in an Aberdeenshire village has died.
The pensioner was hit by the grey Audi on Tuesday morning on Eavern Place, Oldmeldrum.
The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but police have now confirmed that she died from her injuries.
A spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following a road traffic collision on Eavern Place, Oldmeldrum on Tuesday 2 December, an 81 year old woman has now sadly died.
“The collision between a grey Audi A4 and a pedestrian occurred at around 8.20am and the road was closed for a number of hours to allow for a collision investigation to be completed.
“As is standard with all fatal road traffic collisions, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
