The funeral of a schoolboy knocked down near Newtonhill was held yesterday.
Bobby Douglas was struck by a van while crossing the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road on November 21.
The 11-year-old, who was a keen kickboxer and Dons fan, was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.
In the days after his death, tributes poured in with his parents Mark Douglas and Tracy Livingstone describing him as an “amazing boy” who had a “real passion for life”.
Friends and loved ones also left floral tributes – and even a boxing glove – with poignant messages at the scene of the tragedy, as well as at the Aberdeen Combat Centre gym, where Bobby trained.
The tributes at the roadside are continuing to grow, with rows of bouquets, a Dons flag and scarf lining the hillside and a lamppost being adorned with photographs of the Abbotswell Primary School pupil.
And messages of love for the youngster are also still flooding in online, with many friends also changing their profile picture to an image of him with the words “Bobby Douglas Mini Spartan. Forever missed but not forgotten.”
Shortly before his funeral, the team at the Aberdeen Combat Centre wrote: “Today, we say our final farewell to our youngest fighter.
“The original mini Spartan.
“May you forever fill our hearts with love, and watch over us with pride.
“Every tear shed today is for you Bobby. You were a very special little boy, who brought happiness to all those who knew you. Rest easy little bro. We’ll always miss you. All our love xx”
