An Aberdeenshire care home closed to visitors due to the outbreak of a diarrhoea and sickness bug has opened its doors again.
Burnside Care Home in Laurencekirk was in shut down last week after 20 residents and staff fell ill.
New admissions were halted, and visitors and relatives were asked to stay away until the viral infection was under control.
Yesterday a spokeswoman for the home said there had been no new cases of the norovirus.
She added: “Things are improving at the home and the Health Protection Agency have given approval for Burnside to be open to admissions and relatives.”
Burnside cares for up to 57 people with a number of health conditions, including cancer.
