Two people have been arrested following reports of a bus passenger carrying a firearm in Aberdeen.
Eyewitnesses said armed police officers stormed a public service bus in the city centre.
Officers arrested a 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman who were on a First Bus, and recovered a BB gun.
The incident happened on Union Street, near to Castle Street and Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Two police cars were spotted in the area.
A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to reports of a bus passenger in Aberdeen city centre carrying a firearm at around 1.15pm on Wednesday, May 4.
“There were no injuries reported. A BB gun was recovered and there was no greater threat to the community.
“A 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested.”
