Over 200 mourners have today paid their last respects to a young farmer killed in a country road crash.
William Sangster, 19, died when the Ford Fiesta he was travelling in left the road and crashed into a tree near Mintlaw on November 29.
But today his friends and family pulled together for a touching farming themed funeral in Crimond, with a number of the teenager’s friends attending in boiler suits and work boots, as they had been encouraged to do so by Mr Sangsters grieving parents, Philip and Tracey.
Mr Sangster was described by his family as a keen farmer who loved to work outdoors with his hands, he recently trained to be a joiner at Banff and Buchan College but returned to work on the fields again.
In a fitting tribute to the young man, his coffin was loaded on to a trailer after his service of thanksgiving at Crimond Parish Church. A grey vintage tractor then pulled the trailer to Lonmay Cemetery followed by a convoy of modern tractors.
