Two north-east groups are in line to get a share of £30,000 to develop tourism in the region.
Aberdeenshire Council’s infrastructure services committee has allocated the cash to Banffshire Coast Tourism Partnership (BCTP) and Visit Royal Deeside.
The money will be used to support their 2015/16 business plans, which include introducing a Victorian heritage trail in Deeside and continuing to boost the profile of places including Pennan, Cullen and Turriff.
The money has been set aside for the two groups in the hope of helping them attract further funding from other agencies such as Scottish Enterprise.
The move is in line with Tourism Scotland 2020, the National Tourism Strategy, which states in order for tourism to grow, greater collaboration at a local, regional and national level is essential.
It is designed to offer a better Scottish experience to visitors, who annually spend more than £11billion in the country.
The money allocated by councillors is subject to confirmation next February as part of the budget approval process.
