Road closures for Grampian Pride and filming in Aberdeen this weekend

Due to the Grampian Pride event, ongoing filming and regular road works, Aberdeen’s streets are quite busy this weekend.

To help those driving in Aberdeen city this weekend, here is a handy wrap-up of all the road closures on Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend road closures

City Fibre works are taking place on Stoneywood Brae. The road will be closed between the gable end of number 21 and 33 from May 27 to May 28.

Polo Gardens will also be shut between 4a and the junction with Stoneywood Road from 9am on May 28 and 7am on May 29 for City Fibre works.

The southbound carriageway of Market Street will continue to be closed between its junctions with Commercial Quay and North Esplanade West between 7pm and 6am while resurfacing works are carried out. This will be in place until June 7 with one lane open during the day.

Hetherwick Road will continue to be closed between its junctions with Gardner Drive and west junction of Shepherd Place during utility installation works. The closure is in place until 6pm on June 4.

Roads closed due to events

Two streets will be closed on the weekend due to a filming project in the city this weekWellington Street will be closed between its junctions with Waterloo Quay and St Clements Street from 8am to 12pm on May 28, while a section of Rubislaw Terrace will be closed between 8am and 2pm.

Grampian Pride takes place on Saturday, May 28 with a number of streets closed to traffic between 9am and 1pm. This includes sections of King Street, Union Street, Holburn Street, Union Terrace, Bridge Street and Market Street. The Beach Boulevard will be shut all day.
