Police stopped nearly 20 people during a crackdown on rogue motorists in Aberdeen.
Officers from the city’s west end community policing team cautioned and charged 16 drivers for a range of offences including using a mobile phone at the wheel, speeding and ignoring red lights.
The two days of action earlier this week were part of Operation Whitebeam, which aims to improve road safety and motorists’ behaviour.

A popular north-east nightspot has launched a campaign to help needy children this Christmas.
The Institute, in Bridge Street, is encouraging clubbers to Give a Kid a Quid while out enjoying the festive party season.
Any cash donated will go to the Echo Trust, which was set up in 2002 and has raised more than £2.5million for charity and children’s hospitals.
The collection will run until Saturday, January 3.

A pilot scheme to prevent break-ins to garden sheds is to be extended across Aberdeen.
The trial has been supported by Aberdeen Community Safety Partnership, which provided £5,000 to police to pay for the purchase of 1,000 shed alarms and bicycle security packs.
