The Grampian Venture, a standby safety ship, first alerted Aberdeen Coastguard at around 5.30pm. The vessel is being carried along by the water around 100 miles to the east of the city. The coastguard is sending a tug boat to secure the vessel, which still has full power, and say it poses no immediate danger to any installations. The coastguard say they hope to tow the boat back to harbour in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
