An Aberdeen science centre has opened its doors to the homeless community to offer them a three course meal and some shelter.
The Satrosphere Science Centre joined forces with charity Aberdeen Cyrenians and put on a three course banquet of soup, cottage pie, lasagna, apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding for the homeless thanks to the support of the Asda foundation and Hudson’s Catering.
In addition to the free food and shelter, the homeless were also given the opportunity to explore the numerous exhibits at the science centre and visit its planetarium earlier this week.
Liz Hodge, chief executive of the Satrosphere, said: “Aberdeen Science Centre and Aberdeen Cyrenians are proud to renew their partnership to bring a spark of joy and a warm place for those who suffer most during this time of the year.
“We hope the need for this type of event will eventually become a thing of the past but until that day, we will do our best to support the homeless community.
