A north-east road remains closed after a man died in an accident this morning.
Police and ambulance teams were called to the B9170 between New Deer and Cuminestown just after 9.20am this morning.
It is understood the victim is in his 20s.
At the scene, a tractor lies tipped over on its side, edging into an adjacent field.
A burgundy Vauxhall Insignia was also involved in the crash, but suffered minimal damage.
Police are continuing to work at the scene, however it is not clear how the accident happened.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers are currently in attendance at a fatal road traffic collision on the B9170 Cuminestown to New Deer road.
“The collision happened at around 9.21am today and sadly a male has died as a result.
“The road has been closed and is likely to remain shut for some time to allow for collision investigation.”
