Mandy Strachan appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court accused of careless driving. It is alleged she caused a crash on the Huntly-Alford Road at the junction with the B9002 on December 12 last year. The 32-year-old is accused of turning her silver Ford Galaxy into the path of Peter Wales’s Vauxhall Corsa. As a result of the crash, 83-year-old Mr Wales, from Rhynie, sustained injuries and died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on December 20. Strachan, of 14 Mansefield Cottages, Kennethmont, Huntly, denied the charge against her and will go on trial next year.
