Greggs fans could soon pick up their favourite treats on the move through Aberdeenshire, under new plans to open a drive-thru outside Westhill.
The bakery chain is keen to build a new establishment on the outskirts of the town, with outdoor seating for anyone keen to enjoy a Belgian bun in the sun.
The site is sandwiched between McDonald’s and Starbucks just off the A944 Aberdeen to Alford road.
Any risk of traffic jams?
Blueprints show how drivers would enter off Venture Way rather than the busy trunk route.
Drive-thru customers would browse the snack selection on a digital screen before picking up their goodies from an order point.
For people popping in, there would be 29 parking spaces, 12 of which would have EV chargers.
Scone in 60 Seconds: Are Greggs drive-thrus common?
While many in the north-east are familiar with fast food drive-thrus, this will be a first for Greggs in the area.
But there are 14 such outlets across the UK, with the only Scottish branches currently in Glasgow and Dalkeith.

It’s understood Greggs has been investing more and more in drive-thru diners, with its first Welsh one opening earlier this year.
The first ever one was opened in Irlam, Ireland, in 2017.
How many Greggs bakeries are nearby?
There’s already a Greggs at the Westhill shopping centre, along with seven in Aberdeen.
