One of the north-east’s top attractions is appealing for volunteers to help it remain a favourite for visitors.
Grampian Transport Museum in Alford is expanding its range of services and activities, and is looking to add to its team of volunteer to assist with the project.
The award-winning museum changes about a third of its exhibits every year, ensuring there is always something new for visitors to see.
Now the team is looking for a collections assistant, who will help photograph and file items as they acquired by the museum, as well as event and customer care assistants, who share their knowledge and passion for the displays with visitors.
There are also opportunities for a market intelligence officer – who gathers feedback to help shape the future direction of major projects – and a social media assistant, who could be a young school leaver or university student looking to add to the CV by promoting the museum online.
Volunteers who can help run the membership scheme are also required to make sure regular visitors are kept up-to-date with special events and exclusives.
The junior driving school, which teaches youngsters aged four to 10 on the basics of road safety, is also looking for instructors.
The museum will open its doors for the season on March 29.
