A man is due to go on trial accused of carrying out a string of offences in Aberdeen, including standing on a baby.
Ricky Davidson denied committing five offences over an 11-day period in August last year when he appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday.
The 23-year-old is accused of stealing £5,600 from Coral Eurobet Ltd, George Street, Aberdeen on August 17.
It is further alleged that nine days later he caused fear and alarm to a young woman at an address in the city before assaulting her to the danger of her life.
Court papers claim Davidson did this by seizing hold of the woman by the face and arms before placing his arm around her neck and restricting her breathing.
On the same day it is alleged he assaulted an infant by repeatedly seizing the little boy by the body and striking him on the head and body. He is then accused of injuring the child by standing on him.
Prosecutors claim that two days later Davidson again acted in a threatening and abusive manner at a different address in the city by making threatening phone calls where it is alleged he shouted, swore and threatened violence.
Davidson will return to court next week for another preliminary hearing. His case is expected to call for trial later this month.
