North homes lose power amid weather turmoil

Homes across the north have been left without power as high winds batter the north.

Over 7,000 homes are facing powercuts as winds of up to 192km per hour sweep the country.

In Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire 5,076 homes are affected with 1,183 in the Buchan area and 1584 across Huntly and Elgin.

Scottish Hydro has said Engineers are working restore energy as quickly as possible.
