The country has been battered by winds of up to 113mph and Aberdeen Airport has been badly hit, with a number of flights cancelled. Elsewhere a number of schools have been forced to close for the day, while trains have been cancelled across the country and one dramatic image was released of a train crashing into a fallen tree.
