With the Met Office issuing its first ever red warning for extreme heat earlier, will the north and north-east feel the effects of this?
Forecasters say there is an 80% chance of the UK’s record temperature of 38.7C being toppled, with London set to hit 40C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Aberdeenshire, the Highlands and Moray could also hit 30C during the extreme weather.
A Met Office weather warning for the heat on Monday and Tuesday has now been extended as far north as Dundee.

The UK Health Security Agency has increased its heat health warning from level three to level four, classing it as a “national emergency”.
Earlier this month, Aboyne in Aberdeenshire recorded Scotland’s hottest temperature so far this year, hitting 27C.
The “potentially very serious situation” in the south could still have some impact in the north and north-east – with Tuesday expected to be the warmest day.
And the warm muggy temperatures could also bring thunder and lightning across Aberdeenshire, the Highlands and Moray throughout the start of the week.
The Scottish Government has confirmed its resilience operation has been activated due to the forecast.
Keith Brown, lead minister for resilience, has urged people to take care of family and neighbours while taking care around water.
He added: “If you are planning on travelling to the areas covered by the red warning, you should be prepared for significant disruption, and may want to consider delaying your travel.
“If you decide to travel, you should prepare appropriately.”
Where will our top temperatures be on Tuesday?
- Aboyne: 31C
- Aviemore: 30C
- Tomintoul: 29C
- Aberdeen: 27C
- Kinloss: 26C
- Inverness: 25C
- Banff: 25C
- Golspie: 24C
