Police have confirmed the identity of the 23-year-old man killed in a crash on a north-east road on Saturday.
Lee McClure, from Portlethen, died in a one-vehicle collision on the A950 just south of New Pitsligo.
Police say inquiries are ongoing into the accident and are appealing for anyone who may have seen Mr McLure’s vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Astra, to come forward.
Mr McLure’s family have released the following statement:
“Lee was well loved by family and friends and we are devastated that he has been taken from us.
“Lee moved from Ayr to Portlethen for work and worked in Aberdeen as a hydraulic engineer. He was a keen and skilled footballer and enjoyed playing very much.
“We will miss him dearly.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
