A social worker has been mugged while walking home from work near Aberdeen city centre.
Kim Davidson had just finished a 12-hour shift looking after people with dementia when she was attacked.
The 32-year-old was making her way home to Torry when a bald man in a bomber jacket struck her over the back of the head and made off with her £75 headphones on a pushbike.
Ms Davidson initially chased after the mugger but was unable to catch him before he escaped.
She had decided to walk home from the city centre at 10.40pm on Thursday July 21 after she saw her bus would be a 20-minute wait.
The attack happened at the end of Stell Road where it meets North Esplanade West.
Ms Davidson said: “Aberdeen is my hometown. I’m used to finishing late at night and most of the time I walk home, but I never expected that. You never think it would happen to you.
‘I’m terrified of going out now’
“I never slept on the Thursday night after that.
“I was upset and shaken and just a bit traumatised.
“I’m terrified of going out now.
“It has affected my life in a big way because my husband has to make sure that he walks me to the bus stop and then he meets me at the bus stop when I’m finished work.”
Police investigation
Police say inquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible for the mugging.
Ms Davidson said the police have been “really good” and phoned her on Sunday. She says that the individual is known to the police as “it sounds like he has been doing this for a while”.
A police spokeswoman said: “Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should contact police on 101 quoting incident 4059 of July 21.”
